Studies have shown that drivers overestimate their ability to multitask when they’re behind the wheel. Cellphone use while driving has become a serious public health threat and has resulted in thousands of automobile accidents and deaths annually. Speaking with students about the topic is almost like speaking to a wall, because some students and adults feel that reading a text and/or responding takes precedence over every other area of their lives. This is a huge problem for lawmakers and individuals who are found engaging in distracted driving, and the consequences associated with looking away from the road for a split second can be serious. Our one-of-a-kind, distracted driving prevention program includes several Family Feud style surveys and campus activities that deliver safety tips to drivers about how to drive defensively against drivers who text while driving.
All of our shows may include trivia-style questions, pictures, improvisations and audio to compound the dangers of texting while driving. Remember, the ultimate goal of any awareness program is to not only educate but to encourage positive behavior. Contact us today to learn more.
